Psalms 21

To the victor; a psalm of David.
O Jehovah, in Thy strength the king shall be··glad; And in Thy salvation how exceedingly shall he rejoice!
The longing of his heart Thou hast given to him,And the request of his lips Thou hast not withheld. Selah.
For Thou goest··before him with blessings of goodness;Thou puttest on his head a crown of fine··gold.
He asked life from Thee;Thou gavest to him length of days to eternity and forever.
His glory is great in Thy salvation;Majesty and honor dost Thou bestow on him.
For Thou settest him as blessings forever;Thou cheerest him in gladness with Thy faces.
For the king trusts in Jehovah,And in the mercy of the Most··High he shall not be moved.
Thy hand will find all Thine enemies;Thy right··hand will find those who hate Thee.
Thou wilt set them as an oven of fireIn the time of Thy faces1.Jehovah will swallow· them ·up in His anger,And fire shall devour them.
Thou shalt make· their fruit ·perish from the earth,And their seed from the sons of man.
For they stretched··out evil against Thee; They thought out a scheme, they did not prevail.
For Thou wilt put the shoulder against them,Thou wilt prepare with Thy bowstring against their faces.
Be Thou exalted, O Jehovah, in Thy strength; We will sing and play··psalms of Thy might.
