Psalms 37

1 Of◦ David.
א Be· not ·incensed over◦ the evildoers;Be· not ·jealous against◦ those who do perversity.
2 For as the grass they are hastily cut·​·off▫,And fade as the greenness◦ of the tender·​·herb.
3 ב Trust in Jehovah, and do good;Inhabit the land, and shepherd faithfully.
4 And delight thyself upon Jehovah;And He will give thee the petitions of thy heart.
5 ג Commit1 thy way to Jehovah;And trust on Him, and He◦ will do it.
6 And He will make thy justice to go·​·out as the light,And thy judgment as the noon.
7 ד Be·​·still for Jehovah,And wait▵ for Him;Be· not ·incensed over◦ him who makes his way to prosper,Over◦ the man◦ who makes schemes.
8 ה Slacken from anger, and forsake fury;Be not incensed, for this would surely do·​·evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut·​·off;But those who wait·​·for Jehovah, they shall possess the land,
10 ו And yet a·​·little, and the wicked shall not◦ be;And thou shalt understand his place, and it shall not◦ be.
11 But the meek shall possess the land,And shall delight themselves over a multitude of peace.
12 ז The wicked schemes against the just,And gnashes upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord will laugh at him;For He sees that his day is coming.
14 ח The sword have the wicked exposed◦,And they bend◦ their bowTo cause the afflicted and needy to fall,To butcher him who is upright in the way.
15 Their sword shall come into their own heart,And their bows shall be broken.
16 ט Better are a few of the justThan a crowd of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken;But Jehovah supports the just.
18 י Jehovah knows the days of the perfect;And their inheritance shall be to eternity.
19 They shall not be·​·ashamed in the time of evil;And in the days of hunger they shall be satisfied.
20 כ For the wicked shall perish,And the enemies of Jehovah shall be all·​·consumedAs what is precious of the lambs▫;In smoke shall they be all·​·consumed.
21 ל The wicked borrows, and repays not;But the just one is gracious and gives.
22 For such as are blessed of Him shall possess the land,And they who are reviled of Him shall be cut·​·off.
23 מ The strides of a mighty·​·man are established from Jehovah;And He delights·​·in his way.
24 Though◦ he falls he shall not be thrown,For Jehovah supports his hand.
25 נ I have been a lad; I have also become·​·old;And I have not seen the just one forsaken, nor◦ his seed seeking bread.
26 All the day he is·​·gracious and lends;And his seed is for a blessing.
27 ס Turn·​·aside from evil, and do good,And abide◦ to eternity.
28 For Jehovah loves judgment,And forsakes not His merciful ones;They are kept to eternity;But the seed of the wicked shall be cut·​·off.
29 The just shall possess the land,And abide◦ upon her forever.
30 פ The mouth of the just one meditates·​·on wisdom,And his tongue speaks judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;His steps shall not falter.
32 צ The wicked watches the just,And seeks to·​·put· him ·to·​·death.
33 Jehovah will not forsake him in his hand,Nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 ק Wait for◦ Jehovah,And keep His way,And He will exalt thee to possess the land;When the wicked are cut·​·off thou shalt see it.
35 ר I have seen the wicked as terrible,And pouring· himself ·out◦ as a native green tree.
36 But one passed·​·by, and behold, he was not◦;And I sought him, but he was not found.
37 ש Keep the perfect, and see the upright;For the future for that man◦ is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be blotted·​·out together;The future of the wicked shall be cut·​·off.
39 ת But the salvation of the just is from Jehovah;He is their stronghold in a time of adversity.
40 And Jehovah helps themAnd delivers them;He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,Because◦ they confide in Him.
